*** IMPORTANT – Change to summer schedule beginning this Sunday, May 28
– Worship times: 8:00 am and 10:30 am
– Lemonade Brigade offers refreshments in front of the church following 8 & 10:30 services; breakfast by Breakfast Angels served 1st and 3rd Sundays 9:00-9:45 am; no Church School during the summer.


*** Tour Choir sings at 10:30 service this Sunday, May 28 — 19 members of our Chancel Choir, with 10 other St. Catherine’s parishioners and friends, will travel June 14-21 to sing at St. James Episcopal Church in Florence, Italy and the Tuscany International Choral Festival. Our “Tour Choir” will sing their music for our 10:30 service this Sunday. Please keep all those going on this trip in your prayers.


*** Glare reduction project to proceed next Tuesday, May 30 — Many people are affected by the strong sunlight in our sanctuary on certain Sundays throughout the year. A product will be installed on the high clerestory windows next week to greatly reduce the glare while still letting us enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. (Read about this in the recent Wheel newsletter at .)

*** Weekly Ministry Focus: Chancel Choir — This week we celebrate the life and work of Chancel Choir, for adult singers and youth past the age for Choristers. This choir leads worship for 11:15 service, September through May, plus special services. Rehearsals are Wednesdays 7:15 pm and Sundays 10:30 am. Readers needed for Pentecost, June 4 — Our custom during worship on the Day of Pentecost is to have people read a scripture lesson in as many languages as possible. If you speak any foreign language or sign language, please let us know and we will provide you the translation by mail or email ahead of time. *** Youth Party with Fr. Dean Wed., May 31 – 6:00-8:00 pm at East Cobb Park. Join us at East Cobb Park, 3322 Roswell Rd, Marietta. We won’t be saying goodbye, but celebrating the time that he has spent with us. Please bring a side or dessert to share. Hotdogs, hamburgers and beverages will be provided.


*** Sunday, June 4 Farewell Celebration & Luncheon for Father Dean — Join us in celebration and thanks for the ministry of The Rev. C. Dean Taylor on Pentecost, June 4. Following the 10:30 service, we will share a farewell luncheon at church. Main dish provided from Williamson Brothers. You are invited to help by bringing:
-> Last names beginning A-S – bring side dish, salad, or vegetable
-> Last names beginning T-Z – bring dessert


2017-18 calendar dates needed by May 31 — All St. Catherine’s ministries, groups and committees — Make sure that rooms, resources and publicity will be available for you and your activities! As we prepare for the arrival of our new Rector, your church staff needs dates of ALL meetings and events for your group–tentative or confirmed, one time or on-going, from June 2017 through May 2018. *** Be on the summer Save it Forward email list — Every week, we have the opportunity to shop for Save it Forward food pantry of MUST Ministries, which serves students & their families in Cobb and Marietta City schools. You may now receive the shopping lists by EMAIL — to be added please contact Harriett Pyburn, harriettspyburn AT You will receive one message a week with the current lists (always <$6). There’s no obligation to shop each week — participate only when it works for you. Return items in the bins across from the Parlor at your convenience.


*** College Book Scholarship Fund — St. Catherine’s awards college book scholarships each summer to our rising college freshman. The Fund began as the Dorothy Hanson Memorial Fund and is funded by individual gifts. If you would like to make a gift (tax deductible), please write checks to St. Catherine’s and designate for “College Book Scholarship Fund,” or donate online in The City to “Book/Scholarship Fund.” Please keep the fund, its purpose and future, and the young people who benefit from it in your prayers.


May Outreach items collection — During May our Outreach collection is for New American Pathways which helps refugees through their journey to US citizenship, Please bring items to the bin at the Outreach table in the foyer: toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, cleaning spray, dish soap, sponges, diapers. *** Ministry Teams Quarterly Meeting Tuesday, June 6 — 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall. All leaders of St. Catherine’s ministry teams and committees, please be sure to have a representative there as we begin important planning for August activities and the coming year. Anyone who is interested in the ministry work of our church is welcome to attend.


Family Promise Golf Outing Monday, June 19 — 8:00 am at Indian Hills Country Club. Get details and register to play at . Also needed are raffle items such as gift cards ($20/$25) from restaurants, grocery stores, movie theatres, book stores, etc. — please place in the Family Promise mailbox in the work/copier room at church or give to Eleanore or Richard Pearson, elerich AT, 678-290-0097.


Register for Vacation Bible School June 12-15 — “Hero Central” VBS is Monday to Thursday, June 12-15, 9:00 am to noon, for children age 4 by July 1 (potty-trained), through rising fifth graders. Cost is $35 per child. Register children now at

Habitat House build continues — We will provide builders on June 10 and July 8 (minimum age requirements for participation). Sign up to help, or support the build with our $15 T-shirts, contact Connie Bergeron and David Daniels on Sundays or call Connie at 404-819-0891.
