Sabbatical July 5

July 5, 2014 –

Today is a typical Galatian day with liquid sunshine as we have a very similar walk as yesterday crossing many streams with ups and downs which the book calls Ultrea! We wind through beautiful farmland and after getting a bit lost trying to find our lodging for the night arrive safely after 4 km detour and a 20 km day. One amazing surprise was to arrive at St. Mary’s de Melide, to find two American Roman Catholic priests celebrating mass in English…wearing their hiking boots under their Cassocks…fellow Peregrino’s! My foot is still strong today although tired after a full day’s walking. We hope to go 15 km tomorrow … We’ll see how we do… it’s supposed to rain again in the morning. Have a lovely sinus infection shared by someone in the albergue two days ago…it hasn’t slowed me down!
