Adult Lay Readers

Chair: Bill Selby

There are vested and un-vested lay readers serving at our various services. Un-vested lay readers come up from the congregation to read the Old Testament lesson and lead the Psalms at the 8:45 service (8:00 in summer). Vested lay readers process in with the clergy at all services. They read the lessons (at the later service), lead the Prayers of the People, and assist with serving communion. Extra chalicers also help with the communion. Vested lay readers should be willing to serve at any of our regular service times.  Training is held regularly (no more than twice a year).
