Communities In Schools

Communities in Schools of Marietta/Cobb (CISMCC) is a local non-profit organization, part of a nationwide network of Communities in Schools affiliates, which champions the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life.

St. Catherine’s is involved with CISMCC tutoring students at Dunleith and Hickory Hills Elementary Schools, mentoring high school students at 5 high schools, Marietta and Cobb PLC’s, Osborne, Pebblebrook, Marietta High, and  at Marietta Middle School.  Tutoring and mentoring takes 4-6 hours monthly with flexible hours.  There is also a 2 hour mentor/tutor training and a background check.

We also support Reality Us at various schools throughout the county.  Reality U is a financial simulation program to help young people learn about the financial considerations of living as an adult.  This is a periodic commitment for a half or a full day during the school day. For additional information, visit their website at www.cismcc.org or contact Carol Fey, Executive Director of CISMCC.
