Youth Mentors

Young people need connections with many adults, not just their parents, in order to grow emotionally and spiritually and to make better choices in their lives. Adult members of St. Catherine’s are trained to be mentors and friends to teens. Adults and youth meet once every two weeks typically in casual surroundings to talk about the young person’s experiences. Mentors and youth also participate in fun group events like bowling, rafting and hiking three or four times a year.  Having a supportive relationship with a role model adult is a positive experience for any young person. The young person will find themselves growing in stature and self-esteem and adults benefit by knowing they are having a positive influence on a young person.
